Lenovo’s new Windows 8.1-powered ThinkPad 8 tabletChinese device manufacturer Lenovo unveiled its impressive new ThinkPad 8 tablet at the 2014 Consumer Electronics Show held in Las Vegas last week.  The classy new 8.3-inch ThinkPad 8 tablet from Lenovo is high-end device which is largely aimed at business users and consumers who are looking for faster, better, and beefier stuff inside their tablets.
The new Lenovo ThinkPad 8 tablet boasts a metal casing which is coated in the company's signature matte black.  With a weight of 0.9 pounds in its lightest configuration, the ThinkPad 8 is comparatively heavier as compared to most of the other competing tablets available on the market.
Some of the key features of the Lenovo ThinkPad 8 include an 8.3-inch full HD 1920 x 1200 IPS display with 10 point multi-touch; a 2.4 GHz Intel Atom quad core Bay Trail Z3770 processor; 2GB of RAM; an 8-megapixel rear camera; and a 2-megapixel front-facing camera.
Running the 32-bit Windows OS 8.1 version, the Lenovo ThinkPad 8 also features micro-HDMI and micro-USB 3.0 ports for connecting to external monitors and devices.  To be available in two onboard storage options - 64GB and 128GB -, the tablet comes with Wi-Fi (802.11 a/b/g/n) and Bluetooth; as well as a global 3G/4G mobile wireless option.  The tablet will also be packaged with MS Office 2013 Home and Student, just like other 8-inch Windows 8.1 tablets.
To be priced at $399 for the entry-level version, the new Leno ThinkPad 8 will reportedly start shipping towards the end of January.
