One of the other things that have been revealed is that eating habits of wolverines have also changed. Tom Shardlow, biologist at Department of Fisheries and Oceans, was of the view that their study is the first evident that wolverines live in that area.
To talk about wolverines, they have weight of mid-height dog and survive by eating dead animals. Study researchers have affirmed that around 3,000 to 4,000 wolverines in B.C. are present, but majority of them live in snowy habitats.
Though wolverine has same weight as that of a mid-size dog, it has a reputation of an animal that is not gentle. It might have been because of reports that revealed that wolverines have killed caribou, which are 10 times the size of wolverines.
It is generally said that wolverine live by scavenging on animals like deer. But hair sample test has uncovered about the presence of marine protein in its diet.
"But there was one nobody would ever expect to see - and that's a wolverine", said Shardlow after spotting wolverine.
