Online Porn Adversely Impacting Mental Health of Youngsters, Warns CharityOnline pornography and cyber bullying are having adverse impact on mental health of young people, a charity has warned. The charity's new campaign tried to figure out the mental health of youngsters in Britain by conducting a poll on 2,000 young people. The YoungMinds poll   revealed that more than 50% of the surveyed youngsters said that they had a feeling of being a failure if they scored low grades, while half said that they had been bullied.
The charity's new campaign has been launched today. The motive behind the launch is to make mental health and emotional well-being better in five most important areas: bullying, sexual pressures, school stress, unemployment and lack of access to help.
Nearly 33% of the surveyed youngsters said they did not have any idea about where to seek help for depression and anxiety. More than 50% admitted to have watched pornography and 40% said that watching pornography had impacted relationships with their peers.
YoungMinds has got support from Labor leader Ed Miliband and The Saturday's singer Frankie Sandford.
Lucie Russell, Director of campaigns at YoungMinds, said: "Every day we hear about the unprecedented toxic climate children and young people face in a 24/7 online culture where they can never switch off. We are sitting on a mental health timebomb".
