David Cassidy arrested in Southern California on suspicion of drunken driving 


David-CassidyAccording to a TMZ. com report, the California Highway Patrol arrested the 1970s David Cassidy in Southern California on Friday, on suspicion of driving under the influence (DUI). Cassidy, 63, was arrested after an officer smelled alcohol in the rental car.
Cassidy agreed to a field sobriety test, and the arresting officer reportedly found that his blood alcohol level was more than two times the legal limit.
As per the arrest-related details shared by Cassidy's publicist, the actor and musician was on his way to a rehabilitation center on Friday when the California Highway Patrol pulled him over near Los Angeles International Airport, and arrested him on suspicion of driving drunk.
Cassidy's publicist told Entertainment Tonight that "David (Cassidy) just completed a stint in rehab and was doing very well in sobriety;" and added: "He was on his way to the airport to return to his home in Florida and to transitional rehabilitation."
The arrest - Cassidy's third one for drunken driving - came after the arresting officer spotted Cassidy when he made an illegal right turn against a red light. In his previous two drunken driving arrests, Cassidy was stopped on suspicion of DUI in 2010 and 2013.
In connection with Cassidy's Friday arrest for driving under the influence, the Sheriff's Inmate Information Center said that Cassidy was released on a $15,000 bail on Saturday morning. He will have to appear in court on February 5.
