The event has been scheduled for June 22, Sunday in Gloucester Park. The event, which will start at 10am, is expected to see 2,000 women who will raise above £100,000. The funds will be raised for Cancer Research UK.
Such events are vital as there is an increased need to bring a decline in cancer rate. As per the data, more than three people get diagnosed every hour with cancer in the South West.
Kelly Rumble, Events Manager for South West in Cancer Research UK, said, "We are calling on Gloucester's mighty mums, gutsy grans, feisty friends and go-getting girls to join our formidable army and take on cancer at this year's Race for Life".
Rumble continued by affirming that they are well aware of the fact that Gloucester women are quite determined to do things, which they want. They want to use this strength of Gloucester women in order to defy the dreadful disease by raising funds for cancer research.
