Apple iPhone kicks off its much-anticipated sales in China

Apple iPhone kicks off its much-anticipated sales in ChinaAs a result of US tech giant Apple's iPhone deal with bigwig Chinese carrier China Mobile, the highly-anticipated sales of the iPhone have kicked off in China.  With China Mobile being the largest phone network in the emerging Chinese smartphone market, Apple's iPhone deal with the company is noteworthy because China Mobile is Apple's latest and biggest partner.
The Apple-China Mobile deal essentially pertains to the sales of the iPhone in China.  With the recent announcement of the deal having led to 1 million iPhone pre-orders in the country, Apple CEO Tim Cook has described the Apple-China Mobile iPhone agreement as a "watershed moment."
Cook, who was on a trip to Beijing last week, made the remark about the Apple-China Mobile iPhone deal at an Apple store in Beijing.
During the trip, Cook also told CNBC on Wednesday that, from Apple's perspective, the company's partnership with China Mobile underscores a momentous move because it brings "the world's best smartphone to the very largest and now the fastest network in China."
Meanwhile, according to a CNN report, it has been estimated by analysts that Apple's iPhone deal with China Mobile will help the US tech company sell a total of up to 24 million iPhone units in China in 2014 alone.
