Child sexual abuse for most victims is an experience that is both shocking and confusing. Most of them find it hard to accept what really happened to them.
Webster told that she was taking training from the coach when she was just 11 years of age and he was her 'male role model'. She was easily taken in confidence by the coach as he used to tell her that she was a good runner and taking extra sessions would definitely improve her performance.
She told, "You should never touch a young girl anyway, but he very manipulatively and very slowly sexually assaulted me".
The coach was imprisoned for 10 years and put on the sex offenders' register for life. He was reported for similar act by another girl. Webster is currently taking training for a 250-mile, seven-day run. The main objective of this event is to create awareness for Women's Aid. The charity works to stop domestic violence against women and children.
Dr. Cathy Kezelman, president of Adults Surviving Child Abuse, said all victims of child abuse do not have strength to speak publically about it, yet Webster took this decision with aim to encourage others to do the same.
