Rescuers pull person out of sea at Stonehaven
A police officer and two members of the public have pulled a person from the sea off Stonehaven in Aberdeenshire.
The alarm was raised at 15:00 when a member of the public reported seeing someone in the water at Stonehaven Bay.
By the time a lifeboat and helicopter arrived at the scene, the person had been pulled to the shore.
The helicopter took them to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary for treatment. The condition of the person involved in the incident is not known.
Aberdeen Coastguard watch manager Kevin Brown said: "We're not sure how the person came to be in the water. The people who pulled them from the sea to the shore was incredibly brave given the rough conditions on the breakwater in Stonehaven today.
"With choppy seas and large waves we would urge members of the public to take extra care along our coastline at this time."
